Tour de France 2026 ends today with Stage 21, which finishes on the iconic Champs-Élysées in Paris. The ride into the French capital promises to be a coronation for Tadej Pogacar as the Slovenian closes in on his third Yellow Jersey in a row, and his fifth overall. It will take the UAE Emirates XRG star level with Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain and it is surely only a matter of time before he moves out on his own beyond the legendary quartet.
Today's stage has been shortened from a 132.5km ride down to 89km due to policing pressures on tackling wildfires across France. The steep, cobbled roads up the Côte de la Butte Montmartre are still included and proved an excellent addition to last year's race. The route taking them up the 1km climb (average gradient of 6.5%) three times before they head for home on the Champs-Élysées.
The modified route means the puncheurs and classics riders will have a chance to win this most prestigious of stages, as well as the sprinters, so it should be a fascinating watch. However, all the attention will be on Pogacar, who holds a commanding GC lead over second-place Remco Evenepoel, with team-mate Isaac del Toro third.
